Varna is a great place to rest on a rest day. I slept in, went for a quick swim in the Black Sea, had a huge chicken kabob for lunch, and then went for a massage. Very low key day.
Nicole really enjoyed her massage yesterday, so I decided to get one today. It was quite an experience: big, hairy Bulgarian masseuse that does not speak any English. Despite this, he speaks constantly in Bulgarian. He works in a tiny closet of a room, in a building that is under construction. There is about 1 foot around the massage table on 3 sides, and that is it. There are hundreds of letters, postcards, clippings of naked ladies, packages of seeds, and many other random pieces of paper covering the walls and ceiling. He used about 12 different lotions and oils and rubs during the 1 hour massage, as well as suction cups, an infrared devise, and an abrasive brush. After the massage, we have several shots of moonshine from his water bottle, as well as nuts and pineapple juice. Despite all these interesting quirks, he clearly knows what he is doing and gave me a good massage.

You're coming back a changed man! [Would have typed this in Bulgarian if I could].
